Saturday, October 6
1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Thomas Memorial Library was one of only eight official event sites in Maine to host the first annual Star Wars Reads Day on Saturday, October 6, 2012.
All afternoon, the library offered ongoing activities devoted to Star Wars, including crafts, games, prizes, and giveaways. The highlight of the day was an appearance by a Storm Trooper from the 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming fan club (see the videos below!) Weather allowed most afternoon’s events to take place outside. Below is the schedule of events that were offered:

About Star Wars Reads Day
Star Wars Reads Day is a national event that celebrates reading and Star Wars. It was created in 2012 by Lucasfilm and its publishing partners–Abrams, Chronicle Books, Dark Horse, Del Rey, DK Publishing, Random House Audio, Scholastic, Titan Magazines and Workman. This was the first time a group of publishers have worked together on such a massive event. There were over 1000 Star Wars Reads events across the country last year. We are so grateful to Lucasfilm and its partners for sponsoring the event and providing event materials!
