LIBRARY ASSISTANT–SUBSTITUTE

(No regular hours; on an as-needed basis)

The Thomas Memorial Library is seeking several people-centered individuals who have a positive outlook to staff our public desks when regular staff are unavailable. Work hRegular hours may include weekdays, evenings and Saturdays.

This customer service position requires the ability to balance multifaceted job responsibilities in a busy environment. The successful applicant will be required to work with a very high degree of accuracy, exercise tact and independent judgment in accordance with library policy and possess a demonstrated respect and appreciation for patrons of all ages. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is a minimum requirement for this position. Familiarity with computers and database applications is a must. Proven customer service experience and a positive outlook are essential. Preference will be give to applicants with library experience, particularly those who are already trained in using Innovative Interfaces circulation software and Minerva protocols.

Compensation: $15.83/hour
