Maine author Josh Pahigian’s latest book, Strangers on the Beach, has been getting great reviews from readers and critics alike, and Publishers Weekly recently picked it as one of its “Indie Sleeper Titles to Watch.”

Pahigian will be reading from the book, answering questions, and signing books on:

Pahigian has previously published a number of books on baseball and baseball history; Strangers on the Beach is his first work of fiction. Set in Old Orchard Beach, this mystery/suspense novel crosses the storylines of affluent summer tourists and struggling year-round residents when a famed and wealthy adventurer gets stranded in town after an incident at sea. As the tourists arrive, including two intriguing strangers, a troubled local teenager inadvertently uncovers evidence that will change the fate of all involved.

About Josh Pahigian

Shortly after arriving in Maine in 2002, Josh Pahigian accepted a part-time position at the Old Orchard Beach town hall to serve as Assistant Director of Recreation. The job lasted just long enough for Josh to fall in love with the town and its people, as he gained a unique perspective into the seaside community’s inner workings. In 2012, after seven non-fiction baseball books, Josh published his first novel—Strangers on the Beach—with Islandport Press. The book is set in his beloved Old Orchard Beach.

During the academic year, Josh serves as an adjunct writing professor at The University of New England in Biddeford. He also serves as a writing mentor in the Low Residency MFA program in Creative Writing at Western Connecticut State University.

Among Josh’s baseball books are The Ultimate Baseball Road Trip and 101 Baseball Places to Visit Before You Strike Out. His work has also appeared on ESPN.com and in other print and web-based periodicals. Josh holds a bachelor’s degree in English from The College of the Holy Cross and a master’s of fine arts degree in Creative Writing from Emerson College.
