Did You Know…

  • The number one indicator that children will be ready to learn to read when they arrive at school is age-appropriate children’s books in their home and being read to daily from birth on.
  • There is no shortage of gently used, quality books in this country, only a shortage of redistribution of these books.

Thomas Memorial Library is pleased to partner with the Book Fairy Pantry Project to benefit the Cape Elizabeth families who visit Judy’s Pantry. The Book Fairy Pantry Project is a grassroots family literacy movement with the mission of putting books in the hands of children through connections with food pantries across the country.

Judy’s Pantry is located in the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church. The pantry is open, free of charge, to Cape Elizabeth residents who have limited resources and are struggling to eat healthy food – no paperwork, no questions asked.

Please donate new or gently used children’s books.

There is a donation box in the children’s area of the library.

We will bring them to Judy’s Pantry to be distributed to families in need.

Thank you!
