For ages 6 and up
Did you know that the “summer slide” is even more severe for math than reading? Research shows that kids fall behind over the summer and have to relearn simple math skills in the fall. This year we’re hoping to help kids keep up their math skills over the summer by offering the Bedtime Math: Summer of Numbers program in partnership with the Bedtime Math organization.
Bedtime Math posts a new math problem every night on their website and their free app. Kids who sign up for our program will receive a constellation chart and a set of gold stars. Every night kids do a math problem from the bedtime math site or app, they will add a star to the chart. When they have completed the star chart, they’ll receive a free glow-in-the-dark Bedtime Math frisbee!
Kids are invited to participate in this program as well as our Every Hero Has a Story Program. (Kids 10 and up may participate in this program, as well as the Unmask tween/teen program.)
We also have two Bedtime Math books you can borrow and use for the nightly math problems, or just for fun! Click on the book covers for more information, or to place a hold:
