An Evening with Bill Burke

Cape Elizabeth resident Bill Burke will present a talk humorously titled, “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” on Thursday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m. Burke co-authored Ted Turner’s 2008 New York Times best-selling autobiography, Call Me Ted, which USA Today called “One of the best business books of 2008,” and noted that “Turner’s personality infuses every page…”

Chairman of the Portland Sea Dogs and the US Biathlon Association, Burke is also a trustee of Maine Medical Center. He served as president and CEO of Portland based Resort Sports Network. As President and CEO of The Weather Channel Companies, he oversaw all operations – including digital cable, radio, newspaper and interactive television products. Holding key positions at Time Warner and Turner Broadcasting, he developed the business plan and led the launch for Turner Classic Movies. Burke directed Ted Turner’s flagship entertainment service as President of TBS Superstation. While CEO of News and Information for Time Warner Digital media, he led the operations of CNN Interactive and Time Inc.’s Internet businesses.
